Cancellation Policy

This policy describes how project cancellations are handled for services delivered by Sköld Labs.

How to Cancel

Cancellation requests must be sent in writing to [email protected]. The effective cancellation date is when written notice is received.

Fixed-Fee Projects

  • If canceled before kickoff, amounts paid are refundable minus non-recoverable payment processing fees (if any).
  • If canceled after kickoff, fees for completed milestones or completed portions of scope remain payable.
  • Any remaining prepaid amount for unperformed scope is refundable after reconciliation.
  • Third-party costs already committed for the project are payable and non-refundable.

Hourly Work

  • All hours worked through the cancellation effective date remain payable.
  • If a prepaid balance exists, unused hours are refundable after final invoice reconciliation.
  • Hourly work can typically be stopped immediately unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Cancellation by Sköld Labs

Sköld Labs may pause or cancel services for material reasons, including:

  • Non-payment,
  • Illegal or prohibited requested use,
  • Material breach of agreed project terms.

Post-Cancellation Handoff

  • Upon settlement of outstanding invoices, completed deliverables produced up to cancellation are handed off in their current state.
  • Optional transition support can be provided as billable hourly work.
